Our History
Section 1: Preface
The Boki Biodiversity Conservation Foundation (BBC Foundation) was established by environmental scholars and conservation advocates from Boki Local Government Area, Cross River State, Nigeria. Recognizing the urgent need to conserve the region’s unique biodiversity, including threatened and endangered species, BBC Foundation seeks to collaborate with local communities, government bodies, civil societies, and international partners to protect and sustainably manage natural resources for present and future generations. Prior to registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2024, BBCF has carried out various conservation activities including, ecological monitoring, conservation education and outreach in communities and schools, provided support to undergraduate students, and promoted sustainable agricultural practices in the rich biodiversity region.
Section 2: Preamble
We, the members of the Boki Biodiversity Conservation Foundation (BBC Foundation), a registered indigenous non‑governmental organization committed to biodiversity conservation and research, sustainable development and community empowerment, do hereby adopt this Constitution as the governing framework of BBC Foundation.
Section 3: Supremacy of the Constitution
This Constitution shall be the supreme governing document of BBC Foundation. All policies, activities and decisions of the Foundation shall be consistent with its provisions. Where any matter is not provided for in this Constitution, the Board of Trustees shall make such directions as are consistent with the spirit and purpose of the Foundation.
